CURITIBA
In schools from Curitiba there are subjects related to environment and recycling to teach children to be responsible in these fields when they get to be adults.
At the beginning Curitiba was a city with much air pollution, mobility problems, *sewer water and it had a lot of trash.
Then the government created a recycling programme called Green Exchange that consists of each week two trucks go to different parts of Curitiba, one it is empty that is where you put the trash that you take for recycling and another truck is full of food that you can achieve from the recycle. With this programme little by little people were recycling more and more and now almost all the population has changed the mentality of thinking and they recycle everything.
Also there is another system. Previously in Curitiba was very difficult to move around the city, then the government invented a bus transit line that can *carry hundreds of people and so they can move around the city *easiness. Recycling the trash you can get a ticket and with this ticket you will have a free travel on the bus.
It is estimated that there are about fifty *square meters of green space per *inhabitant.
I think that Curitiba has done what it had to do and even more and it is now a city where many tourist go on vacations.
I think Spain should make a project like this because now with the crisis would be many people interested in recycling in order to have something to eat.
*Sewer water: waste water
*Carry: transport
*Easiness: facility
